Certificate of Qualification as a 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician is required. 4th year apprentices may be considered.
Clean Drivers Abstract and Valid Driver’s License.
OPCA Petroleum Oriented Safety Training Certificate an asset.
TSSA Petroleum Mechanic Helper Certificate an asset.
Minimum of 3 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included) required.
Bucket Truck and Class 1 Division 1 experience an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
Good mechanical ability, a thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity, circuitry, and power distribution systems, and familiarity with the materials and techniques of construction
Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required.
Time Management and organizational skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work onsite with other trades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
Pull wire and cable through conduits, position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures, install single and multi-wire cables above and underground, install data cabling, and install and maintain fibre optic and signalling systems.
Work in the full range of environmental conditions: from outside in all weathers
Other duties as required.
